This museum is a "must see" for everyone with an interest in British Aviation History.
The museum, largely dedicated to the county of Berkshire's celebrated contribution to the development to aviation, is sited at the historic site of Woodley Airfield, near the town of Reading. Here, visitors can wander amongst exhibits that perfectly recapture the spirit of the aviation industry including Miles and Handley Page aircraft built at Woodley during 1932 to 1947. Other aircraft are those built by Fairy Aviation of White Waltham, Reading.
There is a virtual tour and fascinating pictorial records as well as historic archive material featuring such names as George and Blossom Miles.
An on-site shop is open for the purchase of souvenirs, books, games and puzzles.
The museum is open on Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays during the summer, with opening limited to Sunday and Wednesday during November to March.
This is a visit that offers a great day out for all the family.
